The Clip System | To attach the screen just slide the clip over the carriage bolt, and sung down the strap. If your system has the bolts screwed flush with the surface, unscrew the bolt about 1/8” then slide the clips on.
| | If your system has the bolts removed and the inserts are secured with covers, remove the covers and install the carriage bolt. Screw down to within 1/8” of the surface. Slide the clip over the bolt and snug down the strap. The clip cannot rest on the threads! | | Make sure the clip rests on the square shank behind the round head. See the page on tightening straps and locking buckles to ensure your system performs to specifications. | | Removing Stainless Steel Caps & Installing Hooks | If you are using the stainless steel caps, use a standard flat head screwdriver to remove them. If you are using the white nylon caps, use a #3 phillips head screw driver to remove the cap. | | Once the bolts are removed, install the eye bolts or carriage bolt. Be sure to fully thread these types of hardware. Carriage bolts should be tightened to about 1/8” from the attachment surface. |
| Threading the Buckles and Straps The strap enters the buckle from the back in to the top slot. | | | NOTE: On standard screens, the flap will cover the front of the buckle. Please lift the flap and proceed with threading the buckle. | | It then continues down the front of the buckle and back through the bottom slot | | | Attaching Buckles The buckles on the screen are deployed by looping the strap through the eyebolt, up behind the buckle, through the top slot from behind, the down through the bottom slot from the front side. The straps may be easily tightened by holding the strap and stepping on it. |
| | | NOTE: On standard screens, the flap will cover the front of the buckle. Please lift the flap and proceed with attaching the buckle. | | Releasing Buckles and Straps | | Armor Screen’s unique buckle is specifically designed to hold and not release under wet cycling wind loads. To release the tension on the buckle and strap, simply give a slight tug on the buckle similar to releasing a safety belt on an airplane seat. | | Pull the strap tight. | | Pull back against buckle. | | | Repeat this process until the strap is tight. The screen should still have some play after tightening. | | | | 1. First thread the strap through the back and center of buckle. 2. Next bring loop through lower opening down through front of buckle. 3. Now tighten strap down to anchor point it is not necessary to over tighten. 4. Then you will feed hanging strap through center of buckle from front. 5. Finally pull tail through back and pull tight. | NOTE: On standard screens, the flap will cover the front of the buckle. Please lift the flap and proceed with locking the buckle. It is extremely important to lock the buckle like this. High pulsating winds will loosen unlocked buckles. |
